Seth & Ruben Byrne joined the 'Futera Stars' back in March 2023, so we thought it would be a good time to reflect on how 2023 has panned out for the talented brothers from Plymouth.
Seth Byrne
It's definitely been a year of highs and lows for Seth as a few nasty crashes late into the season have led to injuries that have robbed Seth of participating in a few key races and the loss of valuable ranking points.
However, despite the injuries it has still been an amazing year, with Seth gaining crucial race experience at both Regional and National level with some unbelievable performances against top class riders.
The highlight of the year was pulling on the Great Britain jersey for the first time and competing with the very best riders on the planet at the World Championships in Glasgow.
Under 10 Regional Ranking - 3rd
Under 10 National Ranking - 21st
Ruben Byrne
Ruben's focus this year has been transitioning from BMX to Downhill and we asked him how he had been getting on...
"I've loved every minute of it! The conditions have been mostly horrendous, the tracks as steep and technical as they get. But, I have learnt to hold on and now understand what 'send it' means in the downhill world!"
It has been an extremely competitive division but Ruben has held his own throughout the whole season. His own personal highlights were the 5th place achieved in the Gravity Event in Rheola, South Wales and 8th in the National Downhill Series at Antur Stiniog.

All of us at Futera Team UK have been so proud of what the boys have achieved this year and wish them all the very best for 2024!
